A Mama’s Promise to Parents of Little Ones

Something big happened last Sunday.

I was upstairs getting ready for church, hustling (and sweating) like always, knowing I had the solo job of getting myself and three young boys dressed (Where are your church shorts?) and presentable to the public (Whoa, let’s clip those eagle talons!) and making it to church on time to get them settled into kids’ class so I could lead my women’s group.

When I came downstairs after blow-drying my hair, I nearly fainted.

  1. My 9 year old STILL argues and moans about having to clean up his own mess. Like, literally, just this very moment, I made him clean up the mess he made getting his strawberries. Simply putting the cut of tops in the compost and the container of berries back in the fridge was equivalent to forces manual labor. Congrats on your guy’s independence. Praise it and pray it continues 🙂

  2. Stacy, I wanted to leave a comment at the bottom of your blog, but gee whiz, I have no idea how. What is the best way to leave a comment? Some young moms recommended this book: PRESENT OVER PERFECT by Shauna Niequist, which helps overwhelmed mothers. Take a look at it. Frau Grimes

    1. You did it correctly, Frau Grimes! I just have to approve comments before they appear. (When comments were open, people left spammy and inappropriate junk all the time.)

Thank you for recommending PRESENT OVER PERFECT. You know me well — Shauna is an absolute favorite of mine. I have read ALL of her books, and am even leading a casual book group/Bible study on her first book, COLD TANGERINES. I had PRESENT OVER PERFECT pre-ordered months before its release date and I’m loving it.

I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It’s always nice to hear from you!

I LOVE hearing from you! I wish I didn't have to moderate comments, but you wouldn't believe what people say on the inter-webs these days ;) I promise to update and approve regularly!
