About Revisions of Grandeur

Thanks for stopping by Revisions of Grandeur. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Stacy. I live on a hobby farm in Michigan with my husband, three sons, and two designer dogs who weren’t supposed to shed.

I’m a schoolteacher turned homeschooling, homesteading mama. When I’m not moonlighting as a wrestling referee (Living Room Floor Federation), I enjoy writing non-fiction (primarily to-do lists and grocery lists), learning to play the piano, or hanging out with my ducks, chickens and bees.

  1. I found your blog while visiting Runaway Nuns and Leprechauns. After reading your ‘about’ page, I felt an immediate connection. As a former referee in my own Living Room Floor Federation, I managed to both survive and thrive while raising my three sons to the best of my ability so they could eventually leave the LRFF and go out on their own. While I have earned everyone of my grey hairs, I colour them with pride knowing that I raised three strong, independent, humanistic sons (please don’t tell them I said that). Looking forward to following your blog and your wrestlers in training!

  2. Love this…from one Michigan mom to another. (I’m down in Battle Creek, where the air sometimes smells like Fruit Loops. I’d live in the UP in a heartbeat, though, if my attorney husband didn’t always toss around excuses like “client base” and “mortgage payment.” Whatever.) I’m brand-new to Her View From Home, but I love your home view as presented on this about page. I’m a mom of 2 girls (current post-in-progress title: “Things It Is Safe to Say to Your Teenage Daughter”…it’s a very short post) but am still laughing over “wrestling referee (Living Room Floor Federation).” So glad to meet you!

    1. So excited to meet you, Elizabeth! Battle Creek where the air smells like Fruit Loops — ha! Love it. You should definitely work on your husband about moving to the UP, where the air smells like pasties and pierogis 😉 I look forward to checking out your work and connecting again soon. I’m glad to have another Michigan mom over at HVFH! Cheers, Stacy

  3. Hi Stacy! Thanks for following my Wanda, and giving me the opportunity to check out your blog. I am also from Michigan, but the southwest corner, north of South Bend. We locals refer to it as ‘Michiana.’ Isn’t that fancy? LOL! Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading your blog! 🙂

Part of the things you have to do now is answer these questions!

    What is your favourite song?

    Your biggest wish?

What is one thing you want to do before the end of this year?

    Where have you travelled?

Your favourite gift you’ve ever received?

    The best memory?

    Dream home?

    Cat or dog person?

Tell your kids Santa is real or let them work it out for themselves?

Dance like a fool, or don’t dance at all?

The one band you want to see live?

I LOVE hearing from you! I wish I didn't have to moderate comments, but you wouldn't believe what people say on the inter-webs these days ;) I promise to update and approve regularly!
